Terms of Service
Last updated 6 August 2026. Receipt Warden is operated by Park Tech Systems (Australia).
Using Receipt Warden means agreeing to what follows. It is written to be read, not to be impressive.
Your data is yours
You keep ownership of everything you put into the app — receipts, images, warranties and notes. We store and process it to run the service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. Full export is available on every plan, including the free one, and always will be.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure. You may use the app anonymously, in which case there is no way for us to recover your data if you lose the device — an anonymous account is not backed by an email address, so there is nothing to recover it with. Sign in with an email address if the records matter to you.
Plans and payment
Some capabilities require a paid plan. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and are managed and cancelled there — not by us. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, and refunds follow the store's policy rather than ours, because the store takes the payment.
Scan quotas are the one thing metered, because server-side extraction costs us money on every use. We may raise a plan's quota; we will not lower the quota of a plan you are already on.
What the app does not promise
Receipt Warden is not an accountant and does not give tax advice. It reads receipts and organises them. Whether something is deductible, how it should be categorised, and what you lodge are decisions for you and your tax professional.
Extraction is automated and will sometimes be wrong. Where the reader is not confident about a value it leaves the field blank rather than guessing, but you should check anything you rely on. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you claim, and for keeping whatever records the ATO requires of you.
The service is provided "as is". We work to keep it available and correct, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that automated extraction will reach any particular accuracy.
Acceptable use
Don't use the app to break the law, don't upload anything you have no right to, and don't attempt to bypass quotas, access other people's data, or disrupt the service for others.
Third-party connections
If you connect accounting software such as Xero, you authorise us to send the receipts you file to that service on your behalf. What happens to the data once it arrives is governed by that provider's terms, not ours. You can disconnect at any time from within the app.
Ending it
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. Export your data first if you want to keep it — deletion is final after the 30-day recovery window described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend an account that is being used to abuse the service or other users.
Liability
Nothing here excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, which cannot be excluded. Subject to that, our liability arising out of your use of Receipt Warden is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will say so in the app rather than relying on this page changing quietly.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia.
